How Suppscan compares products

A package price alone is often misleading. Suppscan compares products using a shared unit when the product label provides enough information to calculate one.

Our data sources

Prices, availability, product names, images, and basic descriptions come from the merchants represented in our catalog. Ingredient amounts, serving sizes, and package details are taken from the available product-label data. Each price remains subject to change at the merchant.

How price normalization works

We divide the current package price by the stated total amount of the relevant unit. For example, if a product states 60 servings, price per serving is the package price divided by 60. For categories with a defined active ingredient, we use the total declared active amount instead.

Creatine: price per declared creatine amount.
L-citrulline: price per declared L-citrulline equivalent where the ingredient form is known.
Magnesium: price per declared elemental magnesium.
Omega-3: price per declared EPA and DHA.
Protein: price per declared protein amount.
Pre-workout: price per serving and disclosed ingredients normalized per 10 g where possible.

When we leave a value blank

We do not estimate an amount that is not stated on the label. If a product uses an undisclosed blend, has no usable serving count, or does not provide enough ingredient information, the relevant metric is left unavailable rather than inferred.

Prices, availability, and updates

Offers are checked as part of catalog updates. Price history records the prices observed by Suppscan, not every price a merchant has ever offered. Confirm price, stock, shipping, tax, product details, and suitability on the merchant’s page before purchase.
