Electrolyte Mixes With or Without Sugar: Compare the Facts Panel

Compare electrolyte mixes by sugar and carbohydrate lines, sweeteners, sodium, serving size, and package price—not a front-label slogan.

“Sugar-free” and “with carbohydrates” describe different product attributes, but a front-label slogan does not show the full formula. Read Nutrition Facts or Supplement Facts, serving size, and ingredient list together.

Compare the actual amounts

Record total carbohydrate and added sugars per labeled serving where those fields appear. Note sugar alcohols or non-sugar sweeteners in the ingredient list, then record sodium and potassium separately. Compare the same number of servings and the same mixing directions; do not assume a lower-sugar product has the same electrolyte profile.

Check the claim against the package

Use the current nutrition label rather than an old retailer image. If the catalog lacks the serving size or sugar amount, leave that field unknown. A sugar-related phrase does not state whether the formula is appropriate for a particular workout, diet, or medical condition.

Frequently asked questions

Does “zero sugar” mean zero carbohydrate?

Not necessarily. Read the total carbohydrate line and serving amount on the package.

Can I compare sugar per scoop?

Only after confirming scoop weight and the labeled serving definition match.
